The family doesn’t mind the occasional guest enjoying their pool.
Britney Benincasa returned home to find a wet fawn by her pool and thought the creature had unexpectedly fallen into the pool at her New Jersey home. But it turns out the fawn was actually trying to beat the heat.
Britney contacted animal welfare and followed the fawn but was amazed at what the little creature was doing.
“What I thought was a fall in the pool was actually a step in the pool,” Britney told NJ.com. “Then she just started walking back and forth to the planes because she obviously liked the massage, it was very noticeable. And then she went back down and started circling around the pool because she was there. As if she were the owner of the territory.”
Animal Control helped retrieve the fawn from the garden, but after a few days the fawn returned to Britney’s pool, squeezed over the hedge and surprised the mother in Freehold, who recorded the fawn’s landing in the water.
Luckily the family pool is salt based rather than chlorine and for now the family doesn’t mind the occasional guest enjoying their pool. They think the fawn will soon be too big to jump over the hedge.
